Ian tells the ship’s remarkable story from her original design through the different phases of her working life. Describes her incredible salvage and return to Bristol in 1970, and finally her restoration, preservation and ‘re-launch’ as a multi-award winning museum of international renown.

Famous throughout the world, Cheddar cheese has not always been a mass produced 'fast' food. The origins of cheese generally and of Cheddar cheese in particular are both discussed, showing how important they were to our ancestors and how Cheddar's fame spread around the world.

A trip to the seaside: Weston Super Mare by charabanc. A short trip with enough time for a fish and chip lunch, ice cream cornet on the prom or some fun on the pier. Your time is your own to enjoy.

2024 Season

Meetings are held at 2:30pm at Redcatch Community Centre on Redcatch Road (BS4 2EP) on the 2nd Tuesday of the month unless otherwise stated.

Membership runs from January to December and costs £15

Members have free entry to our regular meetings.

Visitors  always welcome and pay £3 at the door. Booking is not necessary.

Free biscuits and hot drinks are provided during a short interval break.

A loop system is used for the benefit of those with hearing aids.
