Handel Cossham and the Cossham Hospital
Dr Michael Whitfield is a former senior lecturer in general practice at Bristol University. He is the author of more than ten ALHA Books, including Cossham Memorial Hospital, Bristol: Development & Loss.
Michael will tell the story of how this hospital was gifted to the people in the east of the city over a century ago. The talk will describe the advantages and problems associated with creating a peripheral 100 bedded hospital and will challenge the audience to decide what sort of hospital they would like to have near to their home.
